It is the right size for a cup and a half or so of coffee, which is what my wife (a decaf drinker) enjoys each morning. I bought the red one and she thought it was cute. It was a little insubstantial, all cheap plastic except for one metal push rod, and didn't strain the coffee all that well even after relying on a second filter attached to the lid that strained by the spout. It was mostly useful until, after less than a month of gentle use, the plunger split in half and broke off rendering the entire thing useless.Contrast this with a full sized model I've used for years which has no plastic parts to speak of and you'll understand my disappointment. I'm off to get a sturdier model that I can examine before purchasing.
